Answer :

a) Impact on profit increased by $154,000

b) Minimum transfer price = $7

c) Maximum transfer price from Bishop's perspective= $14

Explanation :

As per the data given in the question,

a) Effect on operating profit :

Purchase price from outside = $14 per unit

Variable cost of production internally = $7

Profit per unit = $7

Total number of units = 22,000

Total increment in operating profit is

= 22,000 units  × $7

= $154,000

In this case the fixed cost is to ignored

b) Minimum transfer price :

Since, Polk has excess capacity so there will be no increment in fixed cost and Polk would recover its variable cost which is $7

Hence, Minimum transfer price = $7

c) Maximum transfer price from perspective of Bishop :

If price i.e internal is more than $14, there would be a loss For Bishop so it would be purchase from outside due to which the whole company will lose the incremental operating profit of $154,000

Hence, Maximum transfer price = $14

The manager of a publishing company plans to give a $23,000 bonus to the top 12 percent, $10,000 to the next 25 percent, and $6,
I am Lyosha [343]

Answer:

total expected bonus = $1262800

Explanation:

given data

bonus = $23,000

Probability = 12 percent

bonus =  $10,000

Probability = 25 percent

bonus =  $6,000

Probability = 8 percent

total sales = 220

solution

first we get probability for bonus amount = $0

probability = 1 - ( 12% + 25% + 8 % )

probability =  0.55

so here Expected bonus per employee company will pay is

Expected bonus = $23000 × (0.12) + $10000 × (0.25) + $6000 × (0.08) + $0 (0.55)

Expected bonus = $5740

so total expected bonus is

total expected bonus = $5740  ×  220

total expected bonus = $1262800

To what extent, if any, are marketers responsible for injurious consumption involving their product?
Licemer1 [7]

Injurious consumption is negative in nature and not good at all for a person.

Utilizing resources to meet immediate needs and desires is known as consumption. It is contrasted with investing, which entails making purchases in order to acquire future revenue. Consumption is a key idea in economics and is also explored in a wide range of social sciences. Consumption is defined differently by various economic schools. Mainstream economists believe that only the final purchase of newly produced goods and services by individuals for immediate use qualifies as consumption; all other types of expenditure, including government spending, fixed investment, and intermediate consumption, are classified as separate categories (see Consumer choice). Many other economists define consumption as the whole of all economic activity that does not involve the creation, manufacturing, or selling of products and services.

Vaughn Inc. reported total assets of $2406000 and net income of $332000 for the current year. Vaughn determined that inventory w
Vsevolod [243]

Answer:

$2,380,500  and $357,500

Explanation:

The movement in the balance of inventory at the start and end of a period is as a result of sales and purchases. While sales reduces the balance in inventory, purchases increases the balance. This may be expressed mathematically as

Opening balance + purchases - cost of goods sold = closing balance

As such, when inventory is overstated at the start of the year, the ending inventory would also be overstated by the same amount, the cost of goods sold would be overstated and net income understated.

Correct amount of asset

= $2406000 -  $25500

= $2,380,500

net income for the year

= $332000 + $25500

= $357,500
