15th century was the century which spans the Julian years 1401 to 1500.
In Europe, the 15th century is seen as the bridge between the Late
Middle Ages, the Early Renaissance, and the Early modern period. Many
technological, social and cultural developments of the 15th century can
in retrospect be seen as heralding the "European miracle" of the
following centuries. In religious history, the Roman Papacy was split in
two parts in Europe for decades, until the Council of Constance. The
division of the Catholic Church and the unrest associated with the
Hussite movement would become factors in the rise of the Protestant
Reformation in the following century.

People migrated to the u.s for a multitude of reasons one of which was to find religious freedom. in man other countries they will hold you to a specific religion for example in Germany you were either catholic or christian otherwise you have no freedom. another great reason people migrated to the u.s is because where they were before there may have been poverty. many places such as ethiopia and some places in mexico they do not have much money or financial stabilization. In the u.s you have greater opportunity to prosper or at least make a livable income to sustain your self. As for challenges immigrant and even refugees face many issues. one extraordinary example is syrian refugees are in a war torn country with many terrorists ruling over them and here no one will take them in out of fear because of things such as 9/11. The biggest issue for syrian refugees is the fact that america doesn't want them and that is a major issue we need to tackle. Another major issue is the fact that some migrants illegal or not have issues adapting to our society or even have trouble with english.
1. Ok, lets start with industrialization. Industrialization did a lot of good but also a lot of bad. The number and quality of goods was never better. Also the countries got a lot richer. But poor were still poor and people worked in bad conditions. As we said a lot of goods were being produced and for those goods you need the raw materials as well as new markets where you would sell those goods. That's when colonialism gets into the picture as it solves both of these problems. You have a new source of raw materials you don't have to buy and also a new market where you can sell the finished goods.
2. Nationalism also ties in to this story as well all the big countries wanted their share of the cake. That is they wanted colonies for their own people. As more and more countries got colonies the sense of nationalism also rose as you had the conquerors and oppressed. So the sense of pride of the conquerors rose. Also the sense of nationalism grew higher as the countries competed with one another, and the identification with the country become stronger.
3. Here we come to racism. We already mention the conquerors and the conquered. This did not only give rise of nationalism but also of racism. The Europeans believed themselves more sophisticated and more advanced than the peoples they conquered. The native people were barbaric and inferior according to them and it was the Europeans duty to civilize them. Thus this was one of the reasons for colonization.
