Explanation: It shows it, mainly, on the part that is written: and when she heard that my mom was allowing me to use the new car, she rolled her eyes and mumbled under her breath. This fragment of the excerpt suggests that she may know something that makes her think that he is not worthy to trust, specially by lending such a valuable car.
