In "About Men" by Gretel Ehrlich, the author wants to convey the idea that the Marlboro man is just a stereotype of cowboys. She has lived in Wyoming and looks for the Marlboro ads hoping to see something of all that she misses from that place.

Where Ehrlich states "If he's strong and silent, it's because there's probably no one to talk to", she is saying cowboys are not so rude as the advertising has shown for many years.

Read the excerpt from Dwight Okita's "In Response to Executive Order 9066".
Zielflug [23.3K]

Answer:

bleak and unfavorable places where typically nothing thrives.

Explanation:

Based on the excerpt, readers can assume that the internment camps are bleak and unfavorable places where typically nothing survives.

This is because, from the conversation, the narrator says "My father says where we're going, they won't grow" when they were talking about packing tomato seeds. So for this reason, the readers can infer that the internment camps are unfavorable and bleak.

Explain what makes the Amazon River the largest river system in the world. How important do you think this river is to commercia
Vladimir [108]

Answer: The Amazon River is the largest river system in the world because more than 1,000 creeks, streams, and tributaries drain into the river. Very few cities are connected by the river, so it is not a busy thoroughfare for large transport or industrial ships. Hope this helps! :)
