a. heuristic

b. script

c. concept

d. schema

Answer:

b. Script

Explanation:

When something is described as heuristic it is one that relates to general strategies or methods for solving problems.

A script contains written characters and is a style of writing. In this context it is a written document  containing the dialogue and  action for a drama; the text of a stage play, movie, or other  performance. Especially, the final form used for the performance itself.

A concept is a understanding that is retained in the mind, from experience, reasoning and/or imagination or just a generalization (generic, basic form), or abstraction (mental impression), of a particular set of instances or occurrences (specific, though different, recorded manifestations of the concept).

A schema is an image or outline that is universally applicable to a general conception, under which it is likely to be presented to the mind (for example, a body schema).

The above is most likely a script because it contains actions for a drama. Indicators that its a script includes descriptive words like First, Then, Afterwards, Then.

Answer:

<u>script</u>

Explanation:

<u>The sign " </u>indicates the start of a quotation which means that the group of words after the sign are taken from a text or speech of another original author or speaker.

An example of a quotation is when you<em> take a passage from a story book like Shakespeare and repeat it as written without changing any of the words.</em>

In Act IV, Macbeth says, “D*mn all those who trust the witches.” Explain why this line is ironic.
saveliy_v [14]

Answer:

By that statement, Macbeth makes an ironic comment by cursing those who trust the witches which he had been doing since the prophecy was told to him.

Explanation:

Irony is when an expected event or result did not happen but rather the opposite happens. In simple words, the irony is when one thing is expected but the complete opposite happens. So, the use of such language that is supposed to mean one thing but the opposite happens is known as irony.

The irony in Macbeth's statement <em>"dam n ed all those that trust them"</em> in Act IV scene i is that he is criticizing those who trust the three witches and their words. But we know his own actions were all based on what the witches had prophesied. He never had any intention of becoming the king of Scotland until the three witches told him about his future in Act I. And since then, he had made sure to try to make or see the prophecy about his accession come true, even to the point of murdering those who pose an obstacle in his way.

And just before he made that ironical statement, he was seen conferring with the witches about the fulfillment of the prophecies that they'd made. And by cursing those who trust the witches and their words, he is also unknowingly criticizing his own self.

Answer:

On July 19, 1799, during Napoleon Bonaparte’s Egyptian campaign, a French soldier discovers a black basalt slab inscribed with ancient writing near the town of Rosetta, about 35 miles east of Alexandria. The stone contained fragments of passages written in three different scripts: Greek, Egyptian hieroglyphics and Egyptian demotic.

The ancient Greek on the Rosetta Stone told archaeologists that it was inscribed by priests honoring the king of Egypt, Ptolemy V, in the second century B.C. More startlingly, the Greek passage announced that the three scripts were all of identical meaning. The artifact thus held the key to solving the riddle of hieroglyphics, a written language that had been dead for nearly 2,000 years.

When Napoleon, an emperor known for his enlightened view of education, art and culture, invaded Egypt in 1798, he took along a group of scholars and told them to seize all important cultural artifacts for France. Pierre Bouchard, one of Napoleon’s soldiers, was aware of this order when he found the basalt stone, which was almost four feet long and two-and-a-half feet wide, at a fort near Rosetta. When the British defeated Napoleon in 1801, they took possession of the Rosetta Stone.

Several scholars, including Englishman Thomas Young made progress with the initial hieroglyphics analysis of the Rosetta Stone. French Egyptologist Jean-Francois Champollion, who had taught himself ancient languages, cracked the code and deciphered the hieroglyphics using his knowledge of Greek as a guide.

Hieroglyphics used pictures to represent objects, sounds and groups of sounds. Once the Rosetta Stone inscriptions were translated, the language and culture of ancient Egypt was suddenly open to scientists as never before.

"Regina loves to play sport's after class." The incorrect word or phrase is?
Nady [450]
"sport's" is incorrect because there is an <span>apostrophe s which means that it's supposed to be possessive. Sport is not possessing anything.
So it should instead be sports.
