3. A space vehicle is traveling at 4300 km/h relative to Earth when the exhausted rocket motor (mass 4m) is disengaged and sent
kvv77 [185]

Answer: Vce= 4234.4km/hr or 1180m/s

Explanation:

Mass of rocket motor Mr= 4m

Mass of control module Mc= m

Initial velocity of spaceship relative to earth Vs= 4300km/hr

Final velocity of command module relative to the rocket motor Vrc = 82km/hr

Total mass of spaceship M= 4m+m= 5m

Using law of conservation of momentum;

MVs= MrVre + McVce eqn1

Vre = Vrc+Vce eqn2

Where Vce is velocity of control room relative to the earth and Vre is velocity of rocket motor relative to the earth

Substituting eqn2 to eqn1, we have.

MVs= Mr(Vrc+Vce) +McVce

MVs= MrVrc+MrVce+McVce

Making Vce the subject of formula.

Vce = (MVs-MrVrc)/(Mc+Mr)

Substituting the values we have,

Vce = (5m×4300km/hr - 4m×82km/hr)/ (m+4m)

Vce = 21172m/5m

Vce= 4234.4km/hr or 1180m/s

If you stacked Avogadro's number of pennies one on top of the other on Earth's surface, how far would the stack extend (in km)?
Luba_88 [7]

Answer:

the length of pennies will be like the Proxima Centauri

Explanation:

50 pennies make the length of a meter, so :

50 pennies = 1 m

   x               = 1 km

x= (50 x 1000) = 50 000 pennies = 1 Km

Then if the Avogadro´s number is 6.022 x 1023 so:

50 000 pennies = 1 km

6.022 x 1023 pennies = x

x= (6.022 x 1023/ 50 000) = 1.2044 x 1019

This big number is closer to the 40 trillion km of the Proxima Centauri.

Hope this answer is useful.

1)Culture defines people's values, beliefs, and personal interests. It allows myself and others to maintain an identity in society, which I believe is important. We are the people we are today because of our upbringings. Culture plays a huge role in shaping our identity.

2)These features include vegetation, climate, the local water cycle, and land formations. Geography doesn't just determine whether humans can live in a certain area or not, it also determines people's lifestyles, as they adapt to the available food and climate patterns.

3)Geography doesn't just determine whether humans can live in a certain area or not, it also determines people's lifestyles, as they adapt to the available food and climate patterns. As humans have migrated across the planet, they have had to adapt to all the changing conditions they were exposed to.
