So, to set up this equation, lets just say that Lucas did 5 hours of homework also. The ratio of Lucas's homework to video games is 60 minutes of homework/30 minutes of video games. If we converted the 5 hours into 300 minutes then you would multiply the 60 minutes by 5 and the 30 minutes by 5 also. You would get 300 minutes/150 minutes. Jonathan's  ratio is every 5 hours of homework/3 hours of video games. We would convert this to minutes by taking both numbers and multiplying them by 60. We would get 300 minutes/180 minutes. Using this we know that Jonathan gets more time to play video games because every 5 hours of homework he gets 180 minutes of gaming and for Lucas, every 5 hours of homework he only gets 150 minutes of gaming. I hope that this helped you!

otez555 [7]

Answer:

John is 9.21 km form the school.

Step-by-step explanation:

John leaves school to go home. His bus drives 6 kilometres north and then goes 7 kilometres west. It is required to find John's distance from the school. It is equal to the shortest path covered or its displacement. So,

d=\sqrt{6^2+7^2} \\\\d=9.21\ km

So, John is 9.21 km form the school.

What is the estimate answer and the exact answer of 17/10 ÷2 4/5
OLEGan [10]
Both 17/10 and 2 4/5 should be rounded up in preparation for this estimation.

17/10 is close to 2 and 2 4/5 is close to 3.  Thus, your estimated answer should be
                     2/3, or approx. 0.6666....

Exact answer:    divide 17/10 by 14/5.  LCD is 10, so convert 14/5 to 28/10.

Now divide 17/10 by 28/10.  Answer:  17/28 = approx.   =  0.607 approx.

These two results are comparable:   0.6666....  and 0.6071 ....

olchik [2.2K]

Answer:

15" by 10"

Step-by-step explanation:

Use a proportion.

10'/5" = 30"/x

10x = 5 * 30

10x = 150

x = 15"

10'/5" = 20'/y

10y = 5 * 20

10y = 100

y = 10"
