History
1 answer:
VLD [36.1K]3 years ago

The correct answer is "giving up comforts and possessions for a life of study and worship", this religious way of life is still important in Catholic and Orthodox church, in some cases monks (men) and nuns (women) accept, willingly, to follow this way of life inside the monastery and to stop the contact with the outside world (even with their families). This philosophy was very common and important during the 16th century, and despite nowadays it has lost the impact it had, it is still practiced by some christian orders in many countries.

What was the community's reaction to the Little Rock Nine integrating an Arkansas high school?
aliina [53]

Answer:

The correct answer is C. As reaction to the Little Rock Nine integrating in Arkansas high school, people gathered at the high school to intimidate the students.

Explanation:

The Little Rock Nine were a group of African American students at Little Rock Central High School from 1957. They were the first nine African American students at this then racially segregated school, and their schooling developed into a power struggle between the United States federal government and the state of Arkansas. It also contributed to the abolition of racial segregation even within the school system in the American South.

In 1954, the Supreme Court ruled that it would no longer be permissible to have schools segregated between blacks and whites. In 1957, it was time for Little Rock to implement it all, and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People had registered nine carefully selected high-performing black students, called Little Rock Nine, at the former all-white Little Rock Central High School.

This led to large protests among the white majority both at school and in the community with the pure lynching mood. The nine blacks tried to go to school on the second day of school, but were met by a large mob. Arkansas Governor Orval Faubus had also called in the National Guard to stop Little Rock Nine from entering the school.

A couple of weeks later, the Supreme Court decided that the National Guard must not be used to prevent students from entering the school. Faubus then puts in the police to keep order. Now the mob had grown even bigger and the police had no way to protect the nine who escaped school for their lives.

By this point, President Eisenhower had had enough and called 1,200 soldiers from the 101st Airbourne Division, while he federalized the entire Arkansas National Guard and ordered them to return home. With 1,200 soldiers on their side, the mob could be kept quiet and Little Rock Nine was eventually escorted into the school.

Since the 700s, what was the relationship between muslims and christians on the iberian peninsula?.
luda_lava [24]

A new era of military, political, and social interactions between Muslims and Christians has begun. In relations between Christians and Muslims, it led to dominance.

The caliphate collapses at the start of the period, dividing the Islamic rule in the Iberian peninsula. Christian kingdoms in the north developed a sense of togetherness, grew more strong, and increased their territory via war. As the last stronghold of Islamic Iberia, the Christian kings eventually overthrow all of the Muslims who encircle the region. Thus, a dominant paradigm was produced by the interactions between Christians and Muslims. Since the Muslims conquered the Iberian Peninsula, relations between Muslims and Christians have generally been contentious and poor. Even if there were brief intervals of partial calm while the peninsula was ruled by Muslims, the peace was only maintained via threats and coercion because Jews and Christians both faced discrimination and persecution. Because of this, the Christians in this area struggled mightily to escape the Muslim Caliphate, and when they did, they turned into some of the religion's most fervent adherents. Additionally, Iberian Peninsula Christians worked very hard to spread Christianity as widely as they could, which is clearly seen in the region's Christian populations in Latin America today.

To exist with one another, organisms belonging to a same species either compete for the resources or divide it amongst themselves. How did the independence movement in Brazil differ from the independence movement in Haiti
defon

The Independence movement in Brazil is different to Haiti in that it was led by Portuguese people living in Brazil who were supporters of the movement.

In Haiti, the movement was supported by the local slaves and colonized people who rose up against French rule after the fall of Napoleon Bonaparte.

Most Latin American movements were indigenous and took decades to become fruitful. Brazil is very different in that, it was a Portuguese colony but the Independence movement against this rule was also carried out by Portuguese people.
