Voting rights had been given to all white men.

The nominating process was opened to the public.

It´s important to know that by this time the right to vote was opened to almost all white men in the States, which at the time were the most open elections we had, and most of the government positions were now elective, with this more and more men were able to be elected. You no longer had to have land, nor pay certain taxes to be able to vote nor to be elected.

This process began in Britain in the 18th century and from there spread to other parts of the world. Although used earlier by French writers, the term Industrial Revolution was first popularized by the English economic historian Arnold Toynbee (1852–83) to describe Britain’s economic development from 1760 to 1840. Since Toynbee’s time the term has been more broadly applied.
