The Newsela article, "Shelter Dog Protects Owner with Epilepsy," ends with Parker saying, "Our family rescued Toby … but he real
Goryan [66]

Answer:

B. It shows that even though Parker's Familym gave Toby a home, Toby now protects parkers life.

Explanation: A is completely irrelevant as it doesn't mention anywhere in the text that having a pet is an "Important" part of childhood! C. doesn't make complete sense because they didn't mention any comparison between dogs from the pet shops and rescue dogs (In terms of Friendliness and cuteness) In The story, It never compares Toby's life in the shelter with his new life at all! The story Is about how a smart dog helped a kid named parker by teaching itself what to do when Parker has a seizure or any affect of Epilepsy, such as sitting on parker so he doesn't get up or getting the others to help! I have read this text from Newsela, My class covered it 1-2 weeks ago! I hope this helps :D

In which excerpt from the passage “A Four-Hundred-Year-Old Woman” does the author express disapproval with her fellow writers?
horsena [70]
The answer is the first one.

In "Writers often disavow the notion of a 'literary duty'" the author conveys a somewhat condescending attitude, as if they would always follow this and set aside anyone who said otherwise. This attitude says the author is looking down on them, and that the author believes that many authors do not meet their standards.

Another answer I would consider is "...writers ruined by their shrill commitments." However, there is no context or clear tone. The author could be mournful of the lost potential for all we know.

What kind of literary device is: "Being but heavy, I will bear the light"? from Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare
kondaur [170]
I think it's a pun (basically a joke that is related to a specific word, like its meaning or sound) - because it's wordplay about light vs heavy
