Answer:

  • A calm, quiet tone of voice
  • Seeking common ground

Explanation:

The most important aspects that should be considered to avoid the difficulties in a relationship should be, keeping the tone of voice as calm as possible and identifying the common ground.

Lets understand with a famous quote, "It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it." The problem in a relationship starts when we use inappropriate tone to communicate our point to the other person. Often we do not realize how bad our tone is until the other person feels offensive and reacts.  Several studies have proved that how partners discuss their problems and talk about them has a lot of influence on the overall health of relationship. If people speak to each other with respect even when they do not agree at certain point, it is more probable to understand each other's point and wind up things happily.

Similarly, identifying the  areas of common ground is also an important quality of healthy relationship. Once you identify what is that thing, which is a good outcome, both for you and your partner (or any other relationship), you will compromise and respect each other's opinions.

For example: There is an employee who is asking for a leave so that she spends time with his kids. But his boss is concerned that work will be left uncompleted if he is absent for many days. They negotiate and reach the conclusion that employee will work from home on less number of hours. The boss has agreed to trade his onsite presence for the work that is completed and similarly, employee has agreed to trade her extended leave for less number of hours.
