HD-DVD versus Blu-ray

The HD-DVD and Blu-ray technology emerged in 2000 and allowed midia manufactures to increase the digital data information in disc, providing more quality and heavier media files. Software developers, movie and video game creators were largely benefited from this new technologies.

The withdrawal of companies responsible for the production of HD-DVD, came after the company lost support from movie studios and major retail groups that opted for rival technology Blu-ray, promoted by Sony. Not only. The Blu-ray disc has a maximum capacity of up to 50 GB of data, against 30 GB for HD-DVD.

The HD-DVD electronics maker's decisions ended a battle with the consortium led by Sony over the dominant standard for the next generation of optical discs. Ensuring the victory over HD-DVD.

Blu-ray's victory means that consumers no longer have to choose between incompatible rival formats.

Mnenie [13.5K]

Answer:

58,560 units

Explanation:

The computation of the equivalent units of production for the conversion cost is shown below:

We know that,

Ending work in progress inventory = Units started - units completed

6,100 units = 61,000 units - units completed

So, units completed = 61,000 units - 6,100 units = 54,900 units

It is given in the question that 3 ÷ 5 means 60% ending work in progress inventory units is completed,

So completed units = 6,100 × 60% = 3,660 units

So,the equivalent units of production equals to

= Units completed + completed units in ending inventory

= 54,900 units + 3,660 units

= 58,560 units

The authorities would issue a complaint if the network monopoly undertakes predatory practices to maintain its monopoly position

Explanation:

A monopoly is when there is only one firm operating in an industry.

The antitrust policy ensures the monopoly doesn't abuse its power and to protect consumers.

Predatory pricing is when a business sets its price very low with the intent of chasing out competitors from the market. This violates antitrust policy and as a result authorities would intervene.
