Globalization has a lot of positive aspects. However, it can also have many negative consequences, both for developed and for underdeveloped countries.

When it comes to politics, globalization has transformed how we understand the state. As countries become more interconnected, many developed countries are able to place great pressure on underdeveloped countries. Their influence can become big enough to shape the policies that they follow or control the laws that they create, threatening the sovereignty and independence of poor regions.

Another problem of globalization is that it tends to benefit the rich and damage the poor, as it causes a race to the bottom when it comes to economic regulations. This is problematic for politicians, as they have to navigate between two strong forces: they need to create regulation that is strong enough to protect the workers and resources of the country, but not so strong that it scares foreign investors.

Finally, developed countries also face the problem of labor being outsourced. This places great constraints on politicians as they need to develop laws and srategies to cope with the loss of jobs and industries.
