<span>I was building an atomic weapon. It was somewhat little in size, and a "military" green shading encasing. The odd thing was that it was shockingly straightforward for an atomic weapon (I know a considerable amount about atomic material science and weapons for my age, genuinely). Everything was so certain, I could perceive how everything worked and went together, piece by piece. After I had built it, we cleared out it in a field and pushed a couple of miles away to test it. I was with a young lady (who I know, yet I can't review the face from my fantasy :( ), that is in my review and I am great companions with. Indeed, we experienced the test grouping, and nothing happened, the weapon neglected to go off. We drove back to it to look at it and see what wasn't right. Very quickly I saw a wire that hadn't gotten associated with a VERY vital part. I associated the wire, and the weapon went off. I saw the enormous fire ball before me, and was flabbergasted that there was no stable from the blast!! The fireball was enormous, green, and seemed, by all accounts, to be isolated into three sections. It thumped the young lady I was with and myself level, however didn't execute us. The Weapon executed everybody in the adjacent town (it was simply the city I live in), however and this young lady, who ought to have been the first to be murdered. I recollect NOT being astounded at the way that I was alive, yet that the green grass was not chared or slaughtered. I spent whatever is left of the fantasy attempting to make sense of why this young lady and myself didn't have radiation harming, which we ought to have in any event kicked the bucket from.<span>

I had the strangest dream last night. It was a dream that ‘shock me the bones’. I tried very much to forget about Jane, but the more I tried, the more I found myself thinking about her even though she is dead. Last night, I slumped onto my bed trying to fathom who to ever fall in love with again, suddenly something happened.

I became asleep and saw Jane clothed in blood from the crown of her head to the soles of her feet. Parts of her teeth were replaced with scary ones as those in horror movies. I felt impelled to rescue her; I started tiptoeing towards the cage she was chained in but a very big black scary growling hyena boomed out of nowhere.

At seeing it first, the Hyena was breathing heavily and staring at me from a distance, like one who is surprised but satisfied at what he is seeing. I felt afraid the more.

By this time I was covered in my sweats like a child with its clothes just deepen out of water. I insisted I must help her. As it was about to jump toward us, I woke up sweating heavily. I regretted loving Jane.

Parrot in the Oven by Victor Martinez is a story told by a teenage Mexican American boy, Manny, who is attempting to find his place in a society full of disappointment. It is a story highly influenced by the race and culture of its protagonist. The crises and problems that Manny experiences like love, violence, sibling conflicts, gangs, family problems, and money shortage, are universal obstacles in teenage life. Set in the projects, Manny gives a very realistic account of what it is like to grow up as a minority in a poor, dysfunctional home. Receiving no real direction from his family, Manny battles with what type of man he should and will become.

He is tempted by gang life, but at the same time, he seems to have a pure heart that prohibits him from falling too far. This is how life is spent everyday for a Latino boy like Manual Hernandez. Each and every day Manny learned something new about his family, and how to deal with the constant situations. He joined the gang thinking that they're going to be his family, it's good for him, and it can help him with his problems. Victor Martinez writes about a poor, destitute family, and how a little boy tries to live his own lifestyles. He was put in a position to do things he wouldn't normally do. When Eddie, one of the leaders of the gang, decides to steal an innocent lady's purse, Manual is suddenly confuses as to rather go with Eddie or do the right thing. Manual decides to do the right thing, and not go along with Eddie, and the reader is left with a relieving feeling. Victor's writing stays with you all throughout the book, and yet it seems to never leave. Victor Martinez puts hard, struggling emotions into his writing, and it takes his readers to another level.
