Allegory: Usually a visual, phrase, or a piece of text that holds a sort of hidden message. i.e. The Lorax, by Dr. Seuss.

Aphorism: A repeated statement that uses a somewhat playful choice of words to reflect serious aspects of life. i.e. "You snooze, you lose." or "Beggars can't be choosers."

Diction: The author's word choice responsible for communicating tone to the audience. i.e. "Anger caused her blood to boil."

In medias res: A straight to the point statement without any sort of introduction or transitions. i.e. "Poaching should be banned."

Metaphor: A comparison of two unlike things in life to create emphasis. i.e. "I'm always a zombie in the morning. Instead of saying, 'BRAINS!', I say, 'COFFEE!'"

Your answer is aphorism.
