The answer is C: Greg goes from feeling respecful of Lemon Brown to feeling concerned about his life.
Greg shows respect, though somewhat surprised after not seeing Sweet Lemon, but he listens to Lemon Brown's story, which for him was completely unknown, and for which he apologizes. Then, he shows concern by asking <em>"What happened to you?"</em>, and, upon hearing the reply, his response is by feeling sorry for Brown's situation.
Personally, I read Lord of The Flies recently and reading it makes you realize what many horrific things people will do without law and order. It was effective indeed because it teaches you human nature and morals. It also teaches you how a group of people will function without a political system.
The underline word for this one is hapless. My answer would be <span>unlucky or unfortunate; pitiable. In this context, the narrator talks about the unlucky person who is compiling a series of dictionaries or lexicographies. Compiling it may be very complicated and long but at the end, there is something good that comes out from such action.</span>
I think, I believe or I feel.
