A Judenrat was a Jewish-German-collaborative administrative agency imposed by Germans and was composed by Jewish. This was what made them think that it was an improvement, they thought they were never going to see again hostile faces, those “hate-laden stares…” Apart from this, Jewish thought this was the last place they were going to stay until the end of the war, until the arrival of the Red Army.
