Answer:

The five-second rule is an interesting topic. It is a certain rule that states if you drop food, you have five seconds to pick it up and eat it. Whether you are using the rule as a joke, or as an excuse to eat something you accidentally dropped, it is not a rule some others may find funny or acceptable. This rule is mostly used by younger generation males.

Which word best describes the narrator’s tone toward Dr. Heidegger’s visitors in the first paragraph? RL.6
NeTakaya

Answer:

D. Disapproving.

Explanation:

<em>Dr. Heidegger's Experiment</em> by Nathaniel Hawthorne tells the story of how a scientist used his four friends in an experiment about water from the fountain of youth. And in their greed to stay young, the 'subjects' fought which resulted in the vase being broken.

The first paragraph of the story introduces the characters or the guests for the experiment. The first is <u>Mr. Medbourne</u>, <em>"now little better than a mendicant"</em>, <u>Colonel Killigrew </u>who <em>"had wasted his best years, and his health and substance, in the pursuit of sinful pleasures, which had given birth to a brood of pains, such as the gout, and divers other torments of soul and body"</em>. Then there is <u>Mr. Gascoigne</u>, <em>"a ruined politician, a man of evil fame"</em> and <em>"the withered gentlewoman, whose name was the </em><u><em>Widow Wycherly</em></u><em>". </em>

The way the narrator describes these four guests is more of a condescending tone than a happy or agreeable tone. So, we can infer that his tone towards them is a disapproving one.

How was the weather when Smaug the dragon was dying in the Hobbit?
tatiyna

Explanation:

those poor Esgaroth people. Assuming Erebor is mainly composed of Volcanic igneous rock, I'm guessing that Smaug's fire is cooler than 1200 degC, since he didn't melt the tunnel the Dwarves were hiding in. Most minerals that comprise igneous rock begin to become molten before temperatures reach ~1200 degC.

What is lamott's THESIS?
aleksley [76]

first drafts but you should write them anyway. She directly stated her thesis in her essay. Lamott supported her thesis with an example of her writing process when she was writing for the California magazine. She said she would write a first draft that may have been twice as long as it should have been the first day

When Harold went racing down the hill on his sled. He hit a large bump and flew into the air, and landed safely on the ground.
Stels [109]
Turn the first period into a comma. I would personally change "and" to but, it sounds better to me.
