1/3x=20

1st step do the opposite of 1/3x to get it by itself. So you would do 1/3x *3/1 than you would do 3/1 *20. What you do to that side you do to the other.

2nd step 20*3=60

3rd You can check your answer by doing 1/3 *60=20

I plugged the answer in the variable to Check it

Is the ratio 3:4 the same as 4:5
Georgia [21]

Answer:

No the ratio 3:4 is not equal to 4:5

Step-by-step explanation:

3:4 = 3/4 and 4:5 = 4/5

3/4 is equal to 0.75 and 4/5 is equal to 0.8

0.75 \neq 0.8

therefore, 3:4 \neq 4:5

Hope this helps!

1. Find the vertices and locate the foci for the hyperbola whose equation is given.
Irina18 [472]
\bf \cfrac{(x-{{ h}})^2}{{{ a}}^2}-\cfrac{(y-{{ k}})^2}{{{ b}}^2}=1
\qquad center\ ({{ h}},{{ k}})\qquad
 vertices\ ({{ h}}\pm a, {{ k}})\\\\
-----------------------------\\\\
\textit{now let's take a look at yours}
\\\\\\
49x2 - 16y2 = 784\implies \cfrac{49x^2}{784}-\cfrac{16y^2}{784}=1
\\\\\\
\cfrac{x^2}{16}-\cfrac{y^2}{49}=1\implies \cfrac{(x-0)^2}{4^2}-\cfrac{(y-0)^2}{7^2}=1
\\\\\\
recall\implies center\ ({{ h}},{{ k}})\qquad vertices\ ({{ h}}\pm a, {{ k}})
\\\\\\

\bf \textit{now, for the foci, the foci are "c" distance from the center point}\\\\\
whereas\qquad c=\sqrt{a^2+b^2}\qquad \textit{ that is }\qquad  h\pm \sqrt{a^2+b^2}

notice your "a" and "b" components, to get the distance "c" from the center to either foci and the vertices, of course, are h + a, k and h - a, k

A person tosses a fair coin until she obtains 2 heads in a row. She then tosses a fair die the same number of times as she tosse
ruslelena [56]

Answer:

The expectation and variance for the number of 1s in the sequence of die rolls is:  1/6

If the coin was unfair the change is: 1/2

The probability of obtainig heads was: 51%

Step-by-step explanation:

In probability and statistics theory:

The expectation and variance possibilities gotten rolling one dice are six.

In independent Bernoulli trials sequence with probability 1/2 of success on each trial is metaphorically called a fair coin.

By the other hand if the probability is not 1/2, it is called a biased or unfair coin.

It might be thought  that the toss of a coin is always a 50/50 probability, with a 50 percent chance it lands on heads, and a 50 percent chance it lands on tails but if it starts out as heads, there's a 51% chance that it will end as heads.
