The correct answer would be B. <span>need careers or political rights. In the 1950s, it was still a widespread view that pursuing a career or taking an active role in politics is exclusively masculine, and that it doesn't suit women. Furthermore, women who dared to enter those forbidden zones were thought of as repulsive to men. A woman could only be considered "a real woman" if she embraced the roles of wife and mother.

What is the meaning of the underlined words in this excerpt from act I, scene I, of Richard III?
Delvig [45]

In this excerpt, the meaning to the word tempers is to exercise control over<em>, </em>which, according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, is an archaic use of the word. In fact, there are other indications of somebody exercising control over somebody else in the passage, for example, "men are ruled by women" "Was it not she (...) That made him send Lord Hastings to the Tower (...)?"

As regards suppliant, in this excerpt it means a person who respectfully asks or begs something to someone in power or authority. In this case, Lord Hastings was a suppliant to the Queen for his delivery.

Quote the line that proves Hamlet is not happy.
tiny-mole [99]

The line from Hamlet that best describes that Hamlet is not happy is the one where he regrets not being able to suicide because it is a sin:

<em>"Oh, that this too, too sullied flesh would melt,</em>

<em>Thaw, and resolve itself into a dew,</em>

<em>Or</em><u><em> that the Everlasting had not fixed</em></u>

<u><em>His canon 'gainst self-slaughter!</em></u><em> O God, God!</em>

<u><em>How weary, stale, flat, and unprofitable</em></u>

<u><em>Seem to me all the uses of this world!"</em></u>

He is so depressed that he wants to commit suicide for this world is so horrible for him, that finds it weary, stale, flat and unprofitable.
