Fergus Craik and Robert Lockhart in the year 1972 created a model that is used and applied in Psychology. The model is referred to as the Levels of Processing Model.
According to Craik and Lockhart (1972), there are three levels of processing and they include:
a. Shallow processing.
b. Intermediate processing.
c. Deep processing.
Craik and Lockhart focused their model, research and theory on how deep the processing of a memory is.
