First things first. Solve the equation for y, getting it into y = mx + b form so it's easy to determine the slope. 5x + 2y = 12 so 2y = -5x + 12. Dividing everything by 2 we get y=- \frac{5}{2}x+6. So the slope is -5/2. Parallel lines have the same slope, so we will have a slope of -5/2 in our new equation, we just have to find out what that equation is. We have an x and a y value from the point, so we will use that, along with the slope, to find b, the y-intercept. 4=- \frac{5}{2}(-2)+b and 4 = 5 + b. So b = -1. Now let's write the equation: y=- \frac{5}{2}x-1. And there you go!

The students would not have enough clay to finish the project because you multiply 4/5 by 10 you get 40/5 and then you can make 8 pounds of clay but then 3 students come in and you would need to have 2 2/5 and then you would get 10 2/5 and you wouldn’t have enough clay for the project

Jet001 [13]

Answer:

(5,7)

Step-by-step explanation:

The given system of equations are :

6x-2y = 16

or

3x-y = 8 ....(1)

3x = 15

or

x = 5 ...(2)

Put the value of x in equation (1).

3(5)-y = 8

15-y=8

15-8 = y

y = 7

Put the value of y in equation (1).

3x-7 = 8

3x = 15

x = 5

So, the solution of the given system of equations are x = 5 and y = 7. i.e. (5,7).

Hunter needs 10 ounces of a snack mix that is made up of seeds and dried fruit. The seeds cost $1.50 per ounce and the dried fru
strojnjashka [21]
Let x = the amount of seeds.
y = the amount of dried fruit.

Systems of equation would be: x + y = 10
1.50x + 2.50y = 22

Substitute the value of x from equation 1st in equation 2nd,
1.50(10-y) + 2.50y = 22
15 - 1.50y + 2.50y = 22
y = 22-15 = 7

Substitute the value of y in 1st equation, x + 7 = 10
x = 10 - 7 = 3

In short, Your Answer would be Option D) 3 ounces of seeds and 7 ounces of dried fruit

Hope this helps!
