One way to gain acceptance may be to show the skills and affinities you have with them for example in terms of musical, sports, academic tastes, etc.

Another way is to be interested in the friend´s conversation topics.

For an adolescent, acceptance is of great importance because it increases self-esteem and security, and also allows adolescents  make decisions in his life with peace of mind.
