Do you think Grayson liked Telling Maniac his baseball's stories?
USPshnik [31]
Chapter 25 is not exactly a happy chapter in this book. Most of the chapter is taken up with Grayson telling Maniac Magee stories from his earlier days as a minor league pitcher. Some of the stories are sad, some are happy, and some are funny. The chapter ends on a big downer because the final story that Grayson tells is how he pitched the worst game of his life in front of a scout and blew his chance at playing major league baseball. The question seems to indicate that it is looking for a specific thing that Maniac does to make Grayson feel better. I think that occurs early in the chapter. This is when Maniac begins probing Grayson for some details about his baseball career. When Grayson admits that he was a minor league pitcher, Maniac is in awe of Grayson and tells Grayson that he must have been a great pitcher to make it in the minors:
"You wanted to be a baseball player."
"That ain't no story."
"Well, did you become one!" Grayson drank half his orange juice. "Just the minors," he muttered.
Maniac yelped, "The minors!"
"Couldn't never make it to the majors." There was a frayed weariness in the old man's words, as though they had long since worn out.
"Grayson—the minors. Man, you must have been good."
Grayson probably is not used to this kind of flattery anymore, but Maniac's encouraging words are enough to warm Grayson up to tell more baseball stories.

Which story event in "Perseus" best shows that the ancient Greeks valued intelligence?
Angelina_Jolie [31]

The event that shows that the ancient Greeks valued intelligence in Perseus is when Athena gives Perseus a mirror so he does not look directly at Medusa.

Answer: Option D

Explanation:

Perseus as a custom would give a gift for the bride to be. Here Perseus promised that he would go and kill Medusa and bring her head as the gift. It was a task unaccomplished because Medusa was one of the Gorgons.

Athena and Hermes informed which one was Medusa as she alone could be killed not the other two as they were immortal. Medusa and her two sisters were monsters with live snake heads. Athena gave Perseus a mirror as if Perseus had seen her face directly he would have turned to a stone.

This passage from chapter 4 of The Story of My Life is an example of which stage of plot?
erastovalidia [21]

Answer:

The correct answer is a) Conflict.

Explanation:

Literary novels are divided into different stages from the beginning, development to completion. In the novels, an essential element for the plot is presented, which is the conflict.

The conflict can be found on different occasions during the development of the novel since it works for the character or characters to solve it. Through these actions, the plot continues its development. The conflict serves to keep the suspense in the readers and keep them interested in the novel.

In this case, when the character mentions that the day has been full of events and the mother's attitude makes her/his think that something was about to happen, he/she prepares for the events, is an example of the conflict, since the character prepares to Resolve the events that will be presented below.
