One disadvantage wast that this form of money was not durable; especially cattle could fall victim to epidemics. Additionally, cattle required resources to keep, which people might have needed themselves.

Additionally, limestone and cattle were very hard to transport, and would make especially big transactions next to impossible (even if one has 3 tons of limestone, how does one transport it?)
