Situation of Environmental justice is the plight of poor peoples due to climate change.

Explanation:

Environmental justice can be understood in terms of equal involvement of all section of peoples irrespective of any criteria. This is done to ensure that a healthy environment is enjoyed by all and any effects if so, is equally distributed.

However, as it seems environmental justice has been pervasive. This can be understood in terms of differentiated effects of climate change on certain sections of people, community etc.

Climate change is an established phenomenon now. While there has been general concurrence on its inevitability, there has been no middle ground on its eradication strategy. This has led to climate change gradually becoming a disaster. Its effect has been double paced. Poor, marginalised community and section are more prone to climate-related hazards. This can be considered a classic case for a section being punished for no fault of theirs.

Generally, all the anthropogenic actions related to global climatic warming has been related to affluential sections. Poor and marginalised section have not significant stakes in such changes. However, a poor and backward section is exposed to the significant malaise of the change. These effects can be viewed in terms of

  • Food and nutritional security
  • Livelihood opportunity
  • Sustenance due to climate change
  • Regular floods and droughts with increasing frequency and intensity.
