What factors add to give 4 and multiply to give -12? -2 and 6

(x-2)(x+6)

Answer A) x = 2 and x = -6

What I did was trial and error. (There is a mathematical way to do this but...)
so you have 10*12 and that equals 120. That is the area of the photo. With the frame, the area is 288.
Increase each number as so:
11*13=143.......continue trial and error
16*18=288
answer: 16
