Answer: A delegate is someone appointed to represent a group of persons in a politcial raly in the United State of America. To become a delegate at the a democratic National convention first and foremost the candidate must be a registered democrat and win a majority of combined delegats votes at the Democratic National convention.

Pledged delegates are nominated at the state or local level to support a particular candidate at the national convention.
