The main similarity of Socialism and Communism is that their main economic philosophies that are advocated are that public rather than private ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange of goods. The government is the one that regulates the production of goods and there is no regulation of prices by the market, instead, the prices are all regulated by the government.
