We have diameter=18 inches

so diameter= 2* radius

radius=18/2= 9

r=9

Area of a circle =

\pi \times r^{2}

so Area=

\pi \times {9}^{2} \\ 81 \times \pi \\

Since we take pi as 3.14 we get area as= 81*3.14

Area= 254.34

rounding up to the nearest tenth

ans = 254.3 \: in^{2}

Two asteroids are 1000 km apart and are heading straight for each other. One asteroid is travelling at 59 km per second and the
Nataliya [291]

Answer:

10 seconds.

Step-by-step explanation:

The velocity at which they are approaching each other = 59 + 41 = 1000 km per second.

Velocity = distance  / time

So time =  distance / velocity

= 1000 / 100

= 10 seconds.

Help for a friend? They don't have an account so I am asking for them. Please answer fast!
sveta [45]

Answer:

A. 7*5 + 4^2 - 2^3 / 4 = 35 + 16 - 8 / 4 = 35 + 16 - 2 = 49

B. The statement of seven times five plus four squared minus 2 cubed divided by 4 is equal to 49. (or whatever your friend's teacher wants when they ask for a complete sentence).

C. PEMDAS - parentheses, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction

Note:

When remembering PEMDAS, please remember that multiplication actually isn't prioritized over division - they should be performed "simultaneously" from left to right. Same with addition and subtraction. The order is: P -> E -> MD -> AS.

PLZZ HELP! WILL MARK BRAINLIEST!!
joja [24]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Neptune is about 2,700,000,000 miles from Earth.

Mercury is about 135,000,000 miles from Earth.

A number is written in scientific notation when a number between 1 and 10 is multiplied by a power of 10. The power is the number of decimal places you move.

1) 2,700,000,000 = 2.7 x 10^{9}

      135,000,000  = 1.35 x 10^{8}

2)

        \frac{Neptune}{Mercury} = \frac{2.7*10^{9} }{1.35*10^{8}}

You can see there is only one extra 0 on top, the rest will cancel so you have:

\frac{27}{1.35}  = 20

It's 20x farther to Neptune from Earth, than it is to Mercury from Earth.
