The correct answer is the people, that in a democracy the constitution derives its power from the people.

The constitution of the United States announced that the power to the government comes from the people of the United States. Democracy in the United States is present in the form of representational democracy (where citizens elect their delegates to run the administration) and not in the form of direct democracy (where rules and other decisions are performed predominantly by the majority of votes.

Actually, it is unlikely that Henry uttered those precise words. The phrase was first attributed to him in 1816, more than 40 years after the revolution. Regardless, Henry’s speech encouraged Virginia legislators to provide troops to the Revolutionary War effort, helping to create the Continental Army less than three months later. After the revolution, Henry became the first governor of the state of Virginia.

Why did the jamestown settlement almost fail?
Law Incorporation [45]

Answer:

Its swampy location had a lot of disease.

Settlers were more interested in looking for gold than planting crops

They could not work together very well at first

Explanation:

Back in 1609-10, more than eighty percent of the people who were in Jamestown died from either disease or starvation. The survivors abandoned the area, although they ended up going back after they found, in the James River, a convoy with supplies. Jamestown was swampy and isolated. Mosquitoes were a plague. It was complicated to get in and out and had little space, which helped a lot for the diseases to spread out.

Besides all that, it seems that the colony took too long to learn how to work together and settlers hunted for gold rather than plant crops.

In many ways, it is very surprising that Jamestown did not fail.
