The stem would go down. When a note is above the middle line of the staff (B in the case of treble clef), the stem must go downwards.
Since this is the bass clef,
•G is on the bottom line,
•E is on the 2nd space and
•D is on the middle line.
It spells GED and I don't think that's a word but oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
