I'm not sure about the answer myself, but here is how I think you would solve it.

First, you'd graph the circle. I recommend using a graphing calculator to do so.

Since the line is tangent and is meeting at the point (1,2) we can keep this in mind when creating our equation. From there, using what you know try to find a second point on the line.

From here it becomes normal algebra, use slope intercept form to create an equation.

I hope this helps!

Passing through (-2, -9) and (6, 7) write in slope intercept form
Romashka-Z-Leto [24]

Answer:

y = 2x - 5

Step-by-step explanation:

the equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y-intercept )

to calculate m use the gradient formula

m = ( y₂ - y₁ ) / ( x₂ - x₁ )

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (- 2, - 9) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (6, 7)

m = (7 + 9) / (6 + 2) = 16/8 = 2

y = 2x + c ← is the partial equation

to find c use either of the 2 points

using (6, 7), then

7 = 12 + c ⇒ c = 7 - 12 = - 5

y = 2x - 5 ← equation in slope-intercept form

A bag contains 8 red marbles, 3 blue marbles and 6 green marbles. If three marbles are drawn out of the bag, what is the probabi
Ipatiy [6.2K]

Answer:

0.082

Step-by-step explanation:

There are a total of 17 marbles, 8 of which are red.

The probability that the first marble is red is 8/17.

The probability that the second marble is red is 7/16.

The probability that the third marble is red is 6/15.

Therefore, the probability that all three marbles are red is:

P = 8/17 × 7/16 × 6/15

P = 7/85

P = 0.082
