The city of Berlin was vulnerable to Soviet influence it was located within the Soviet zone of Germany.

Berlin was located deep in the Russian zone after the agreement after World War II which divided Germany and Berlin into occupation zones. That agreement arose from the Yalta Conference.

The correct answer is B because it was located within the Soviet zone of Germany. The historical background was the following: USA acts in the war in 1944, the USSR overthrew the Nazis in its terroty, Germany shows signs of crisis to rule the whole continent. Owing to this description, war objectives changed: stop the revolutionary breakthrough, ovethrow the powers of the Axis and make of the USA the new winner. This is why the competition of arriving first to Berlin started, and because the Soviets had influence already there it was vulnerable. The battle that took place there at the end of the World War concluded it.
