Answer:

Parallel structure is a grammatical method of arranging words and actions in the same word pattern syntactically (guiding set of rules) so that the sentence makes for clear and concise understanding.

Incorrect use of parallel structure leads to non-coherency, inconsistency and awkward sentences.

Explanation:

Examples of Parallel structure:

  • These days my mother wakes up early and she washes, cooks, cleans and in the evening goes through my home work in the evening. - all the verbs are in the same tense - indicative present tense.

Example of incorrect use of parallel structure:

  • These days my mother is waking up early and she washes, cooks, cleans and in the evening will be going through my home work.

     - non-coherent and awkward because is waking up, to be going are not consistent with the indicative present tense  - washes, cooks, cleans and finds therefore making for a confused sentence.

This consistency also applies to clauses and phrases.

Parallel structure also make use of conjunctions such as or, and etc in its formation.

Parallel gramatical structures happen when each part or clause of a sentence uses the same grammatical structure. It is also known as a balanced structure within one or more sentences of similar phrases or clauses having the same grammatical structure.

These are the Different kinds of parallel structures that we can make:

Synonymous parallel structures occur when the different constructing clauses of a sentence have a similar meaning.

Antithetical parallel structures occur when the different constructing clauses of a sentence have an opposite meaning.

Climatic parallel structures occur when a part of a clause ir repeated in subsequent clauses within the sentence.

Emblematic parallelism is etymologically derived from the word emblem, which means "symbol." Parallelism occurs in poetry when lines are intentionally placed together to create comparison, contrast, or enhancement of a meaning.

Synthetic parallelism involves the completion or expansion of the idea of the first part in the second part.

I think the answer for this question is pretty easy to see after reading the information just presented. If you do not write correct and precise parallel structures, first you would not convey the exact meaning you intended; second, you can virtually lose your reader in a sea of tangled ideas.

Which prompt would be best addressed with a chronological structure?
Afina-wow [57]

Answer:

Answer: A chronological text structure uses the exact and specific date and time information to signal the sequence of time. A chronological text structure gives information about an arranged sequence of events to readers.

Explanation: Chronological order refers to things arranged according to time, from the earliest to the latest. Reverse chronological order would list them from latest to earliest. One example of reverse chronological order would be resumes, where occupations are listed from current (or most recent) position and goes back from there to first job.

In my opinion, you can use it to define words and find more suitable words (they usually have a thesaurus built into the definition), and find words that seem more elegant or mature.
