It could motivate colonies to unite because if the French come with armies and weapons . The French could take all their money and possessions , so colonist would feel scared to loose everything and unite to fight back the french

This was an exceptionally bold plan because all other routes to get to Asia were very time consuming, and not everybody believed that the world was a globe, but instead flat. Because of these two reasons, almost no one thought this plan would actually work. So, in conclusion, Christopher's plan was to get to Asia by going far east of Europe, and his plan was exceptionally bold because of how much time the trip would take compared to other routes, and because of the fact that many people still believed the earth was flat, not a sphere.
