Answer: B. they're friends yet they have nothing in common.

Explanation:

In The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide, Enfield and Utterson are friends who are very fond of each other.

The answer C. would be incorrect because the two of them are very good friends and do not argue all the time, as well as the answer D., as they are obviously not enemies.

The only answer that is correct is: B. they're friends yet they have nothing in common. The two of them are distant relatives, and although they spend every Sunday going for a walk together, they do not really talk during those walks, as they do not have much in common. Since neither of them likes to gossip, they usually walk in silence.

Which line in this excerpt from "The Rape of the Lock" by Alexander Pope suggests that women in eighteenth-century England were
dalvyx [7]
The correct answer is:
<span>[O say what stranger cause, yet unexplor'd,
Could make a gentle Belle reject a Lord?]

The poet is wondering why a girl would ever reject a man who is hitting on her and wants to marry her. It is implied that women had no say in this - that their marriage depended solely on the man and that they couldn't choose at all. The entire poem is quite satirical and meant to mock these kinds of ideas and behaviors.

How did Poe use rhyme, rhythm, and allusions to help the reader understand how the speaker feels about Annabel Lee?How did the mu
Alecsey [184]

Answer and Explanation:

1. All the literary devices used by Poe, be they rhyme, rhythm and allusions, aim to represent some element about Annabel Lee, that is, everything used in the text revolves around her, not allowing the reader to think of anything else when doing reading the poem, as the speaker forces the reader to think about Annabel Lee all the time, just like him. An example of this can be seen in the way Poe organized the rhymes in the poem. Although the rhyme scheme is very simple, Poe made sure that all the words at the end of the verse rhymed with "Lee" showing that all the speaker's thoughts were in it.

2. In order to emphasize the same feelings in the multimedia version, a very well-trained interpretation and dramatization is needed, where the declaimer presents the poem with great emotion and giving strategic pauses that show the difficulty and sadness that the speaker of the poem feels, but without fail to emphasize the thoughts completely turned to Annabek Lee.
