The ACT is a university entrance exam that contains four sections with limited time, which take two hours and 55 minutes in total. There are 215 multiple-choice questions in total and covering science, math, reading and language. The writing section is optional, and you can add 40 minutes to the duration of the exam. Each section receives a grade from 1 to 36. The total scores are averaged in the four sections to calculate the total results. How does the author's inclusion of the "Goddess” contribute
d1i1m1o1n [39]

Answer:

The word "Goddess" refers to freedom, which is part of the main theme of this poem.

Explanation:

In this poem by Phillis Wheatley, the fight for freedom led by General Washington can be seen as the main theme.

The author of the poem uses the word Goddess to emphasize this meaning, because that is what freedom is: a great "Goddess", the one who frees us and lets us live in peace.

Let's look at the following quote from the poem:

Proceed, great chief, with virtue on thy side,

Thy ev'ry action let the Goddess guide.

A crown, a mansion, and a throne that shine,

With gold unfading, WASHINGTON! Be thine.

hichkok12 [17]

They likely refer to Caliban as a monster due to the fact that in the play he was known as a half-man half-monster.In some traditions he is depicted as a wild man, or a deformed man, or a beast man, or sometimes a mix of fish and man, a dwarf or even a tortoise. Showing he is not man, but monster despite his acts.
