Answer:

women who compete in and admire the Miss America pageants are expected to be independent-minded.

Explanation:

Here are the only requirements to enter Miss America:

- Be between the ages of 17 and 25

- Must Be a legal citizen

- Meet legal requirement to compete a certain city or state

- Be in a good physical health

-  Have to fulfill the time commitment and job responsibilities determined by the competition.

-- Meet additional criteria set forth by the organization (pretty vague)

On top of them, all of the women were required to post a picture and pre-selected based on their body measurement. These requirements indicates that the physical traits are clearly the most determinant to win the pageant.

If the paegant wanted their candidates and viewers to be independent-minded, they will put other criterias to measure women's accomplishment in societies.

For example, they can include how much businesses that the candidate has built, what type of research that they published, the type of skills that they possess compared to experts in similar field, etc.

Nookie1986 [14]
Voting and serving in the military are voluntary personal responsibilities or rights in the United States. The United States has a voluntary military and therefore it is not required that citizens join or work in the military unless they voluntarily choose to do so. In addition, it is not compulsory that citizens vote and instead it is something that they voluntarily decide to do.
