Field independence is a cognitive style that people can manifest, it consists of the ability to isolate a certain trait that is perceived as relevant, from the context in which it is integrated, that is, field-independent people usually isolate the different parts that make up the objects or stimuli. Field-independent people are characterized by having analytical and organizational capacities, a more abstract and impersonal orientation and being autonomous in their social behavior.
