<span>The benefits are that it allows ships to pass between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. It was built by the US under the guidance of President Theodor Rosevelt. It was finished in 1913 and opened in 1914. The building started in 1904. The technology that played in the construction was the locks and channels used in the canal and by having a passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific. It helped strengthen the army along with more trade.
