In 1948 Israel declared the establishment of the Jewish state. Not long after, both the USA and the USSR would recognize its existence, and later the newly created UN would also. Due to Britain´s involvement in the region all throughout the 20th century, and the struggles that followed immediately after the end of WWII, many nations demanded control of regions of Palestine, nations such as Jordan and Egypt, but also Palestinian and Israeli people, so that, in the end, the declaration of the State of Israel caused considerable turmoil between all the parties involved, turmoil that lasts to this day.
