1.) 7/9+5/12

find the LCM of 9 and 12

LCM= 36

(7/9 x 4/4) + (5/12 x 3/3)

28/36+15/36

= 43/36

Divide 43 by 36 to make it a mixed fraction

1  7/36

2.) 21/24 - 3/8

find LCM of 24 and 8

LCM = 24

(21/24 x 1/1)+ (3/8 x 3/3)

21/24 + 9/24

30/24

Divide 30 by 24 to make it mixed fraction

= 1  6/24
