The statements that best explain what happened to Chinese workers during the Great Leap Forward are Workers were organized into large communes in cities and countrysides and Workers were forced to comply with rules through torture and abuse.

Mao Zedong wanted to change China from an agrarian society dedicated mostly to agriculture and convert it into an industrial country. The problem was that he forced strong changes in a short period of time, five years. The workers were taken into communes of thousands of people, losing their properties to become part of the commune. There, their families received the support they needed. Workers had to be committed to working in favor of the commune. Another problem was that instead of incentives for work, the workers received threatens, abuses and even torture to do their work. Of course, the results were not the ones expected by Mao Zedong, and people was lived a time of fear and frustration.

Why didn’t the south like the American system
professor190 [17]
The South did not like the American System at all. They thought that it only benefited the North. They didn't like the protective tariff because much of their economy was based on trading with Britain. The tariff made import and exporting goods more expensive with left the southerners with less money.
