John Locke believed that everyone was born with natural rights (life, liberty, and property), and imagined and emphasized in one of his books about how humans would live in a state of nature.  He believed that if humans lived in a state of nature, no one would protect these rights and anyone could take them away form you.

The English philosopher John Locke believed in the existence of natural rights. According to Locke, all human beings have by nature a series of rights for the simple fact of being people. Among others, Locke mentioned the natural right of all human beings to life, liberty and property. Locke's ideas were very influential and served as inspiration at the end of the 18th century in the Independence of the United States and in the French Revolution.
