The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef in the world. It is so large that it can even be seen from the space. It is located along the eastern coast of Australia. The Great Barrier Reef is very important for the ecosystem because it is home, food, and the basis of the ecosystem in this part of the Pacific waters. If the Great Barrier Reef dies out than there will be massive dying out of the species that live there as well because the basis of the ecosystem will be gone, so it will be a chain reaction. Unfortunately this is actually happening and the Great Barrier Reef is gradually dying out, and if that continues than the effects will be terrible for the marine life in this part of the world.
