Which sentence best displays an annoying character? While yawning, she asked me to repeat what I said. Talking louder than the o
viva [34]
Out of the three the most annoying would be Tiffany.
Not covering your mouth while yawning shows a sign of disrespect and disregard to the person that one is talking to. Although it shows that the person is not interested in the conversation being discussed or the speaker himself is boring. It's a sign that he or she didn't have a proper rest before appearing for the meeting but that does not mean she is as disrespectful as Tiffany she is forcing herself to pay attention because she asked the speaker to repeat.
On the other hand, the person that talked louder probably wanted the speaker to hear her very well and also others that are in the room. It shows that she is interested in the speaker and whatever the speaker had to say unlike Tiffany that came late, elbowed her way in and didn't brush her mouth or used deodorant as she smelt of garlic.

Your friend is writing a short story, but she has forgotten to add speech marks. Add the missing speech marks to the text. Use d
topjm [15]

Answer:

There was a booming knock at the door and a loud shout.

"Open up!"

From inside came the rattle of a lock, and then the door opened barely half an inch. A woman, dishevelled and clearly shaken, peered through hesitantly.

"Can I help you?"

Detective Stirland loomed large before her. He flipped open his ID badge.

"Where’s Joe, Mandy?"

"What’s this about?" she stammered.

Stirland applied his weight to the door and the woman stepped backwards as it swung open.

"I’ll ask the questions. We know he’s here."

Her eyes flitted from his face to the lounge door and back.

"Joe!"

She folded her arms defiantly, reluctantly.

"Joe, you’d better come out. The police are here."

Explanation:

Inverted commas or speech marks are mainly used to indicate the beginning and ending of a direct speech, words exactly in the order as they were spoken.

So here, in this passage, we have made use of speech marks to show the direct speech dialogues used in the story.
