Brandi jogged 2 1\2 miles in 30 minutes. Sharma jogged 3 1\2 miles in 3\4 hour. who jogged at slower rate

Mathematics

Mrrafil [7]4 years ago

Answer:

The speed of Sharma is slower than the speed of Brandi

I.e ∵   4.67 miles per hour   5 miles per hour

      ∴  S_2 S_1

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

The distance cover by Brandi = D_1 = 2 \frac{1}{2} =\frac{5}{2}

The Time taken by Brandi for jogging =  T_1 = 30 minutes =\frac{1}{2} hour

Let the speed of Brandi = S_1 = \dfrac{\textrm Distance }{\textrm Time}

or,  S_1 = \dfrac{\textrm  [tex]D_1  }{\textrm   T_1 }[/tex]

Or.  S_1 = \frac{\frac{5}{2}}{\frac{1}{2}}

∴   S_1 = 5 miles per hour

Again

The distance cover by Sharma = D_2 = 3 \frac{1}{2} =\frac{7}{2}

The Time taken by Sharma for jogging =  T_2 = \frac{3}{4} hour

Let the speed of Sharma = S_2 = \dfrac{\textrm Distance }{\textrm Time}

or,  S_2 = \dfrac{\textrm  [tex]D_2  }{\textrm   T_2 }[/tex]

Or.  S_2 = \frac{\frac{7}{2}}{\frac{3}{4}}

∴   S_2 = \frac{14}{3} = 4.67 miles per hour

Now, ∵   4.67 miles per hour   5 miles per hour

         ∴  S_2 S_1

So, Sharma jogged at slower late

Hence The speed of Sharma is slower than the speed of Brandi Answer

The point-slope form of the equation of a line with slope m through point (h, k) is

... y - k = m(x - h)

Substituting your given values of m=2 and (h, k)=(3, 9) gives you

37. Rectangle ABCD is graphed on a coordinate
Firlakuza [10]

AC # A'B'

Step-by-step explanation:

While solving the above problem one must keep in mind that

  • Reflection along Y-axis would just make the rectangle upside down at the same distance from X-axis in the down direction.

Thus, from the figure it becomes clear that

  • AB ∦ B’D’
  • CD║A’B’
  • BD ∦ C’D’

Only statement that comes out true is the third statement which states that AC is not parallel to A’B’

Since the diagonal of a rectangle can not be parallel to one of its side (though the side in question is side of the same rectangle reflected in y axis)

Femi keeps track of a number of gallons of gasoline he uses for each of several trips. Part A: Complete the table. The vehicle c
Viktor [21]
The table is attached.

A) The gasoline consume grows as the distance traveled increases. This means that the two quantities are directly proportional.

Therefore, the proportionality constant is given by:
k = gasoline / distance
   = 2 / 40
   = 0.05
We could have used also:
k = 3 / 60
   = 0.05

In order to find the gasoline consumed, you need to multiply the distance by the proportionality constant:
30 × 0.05 = 1.5
55 × 0.05 = 2.75

In order to find the distance traveled, you need to divide the gasoline consumed by the proportionality constant:
3.5 ÷ 0.05 = 70

B) The function of the proportionality found is:
y = 0.05·x
where:
x = distance
y = gasoline

Therefore:
y = 0.05·110 = 5.5

Femi for a trip of 110 miles expects to use 5.5 gallons of gasoline.
