How would you convince your teacher to change your grade using pathos

English
1 answer:
stira [4]3 years ago
3 0

Answer:

I would convince my teacher to change my grade by telling him/her that I've truly tried my best in making the project that I've spent all my money on it and I haven't gotten any wink of sleep the night before just to finish it. I'd also tell him that I've been really focused on finishing the project for the entire month even though I was diagnosed with an illness.

Explanation:

Convincing your teacher by using "pathos" means that you have to <u><em>convince him in an emotional way.</em></u> This will evoke his feelings, specifically the feeling of having "pity" for you. This means that your story will have to be convincing, so your teacher will be persuaded in changing you grade.

What does the quote "besides the good things that he possesses, he every instant fancies a thousand others that death will preve
Angelina_Jolie [31]

<u>Explanation:</u>

We can infer the meaning of this quote by considering the context of the statement. For example, a few lines before this quote, we are told by Alexis de Tocqueville,

<em>"He who has set his heart exclusively on the pursuit of worldly welfare is always in a hurry, for </em><em>he has but a limited time at his disposal to reach, to grasp, and to enjoy it."</em>

Hence, what the quote means is that man (i.e Gatsby), has an insatiable desire to enjoy what life can offer with the fear of dying in mind; despite the good things he already has.
