Answer:

The above statement is true.

Explanation:

The line "Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting" is both a metaphor and a paradox.

A metaphor is a figure of speech in which two things are compared with each other which are very different from each other but they have at characteristic common to each other. In the above statement, birth has been compared to 'sleep' and the process of 'forgetting'. Here the process of being born has been compared with a slow-moving away from God. It has been assumed that before being born, a person lives with God. Later when he is born, he starts his journey to move away from god.

At the same time, this statement is an example of a paradox. A paradox is a figure of speech in which contradictory or logically unacceptable elements exists in the same sentence. The above sentence is a paradoxical statement because here 'birth' has been said to be a 'sleep' which is the contradictory idea altogether.

In fact, earlier in the story, the narrator only says that “a window that had been dark was lighted and Miss Emily sat in it” when the men of the won sprinkled lime around her house to kill the offensive smell that emanated from it. He does not specify where in her house the window was. Moreover, he declares that Miss Emily “had evidently shut up the top floor.” Obviously, it was only “evident” that Miss Emily had closed off the upstairs of her home after her death when the townspeople forced their way into the house, up the stairs, and into the tomb-like room where the body of Homer Barron lay. This passage also plays with the notion of seeing and being seen, the ambiguity of watching and being watched. The narrator states, “Now and then we would see her.” He goes on to explain that whether Miss Emily was “look...</span>

How do you start a debate on the harmfulness of cartoon
gregori [183]
Use Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner cartoon as an example and explain why it may give some children the impression that they are immortal because a show made it seem like that is true, its a false analogy. Which is why so many people died when the Pokemon Go app thing came to me. It was mainly kids and they weren’t scared for a reason.
